This 2.45 GHz handheld RFID reader combines the functions of a PDA and an RFID data collection terminal into this rugged compact device. It utilizes Windows CE 6.0 embedded operating system and has the capabilities of both barcode reading and RFID data collection and storage. This portable RFID reader features low power consumption, easy navigation menus, and multiple communication interfaces including USB 2.0, multi-serial port switching, GPRS, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g, 2.4 GHz wireless transmission module and Bluetooth. It is well-suited for applications such as logistics and warehouse management, supply chains, time and attendance management and field service. Optional GPS is available as well as other RFID reader modules including HF and UHF.

How to Use

Internet Connection

  • WIFI Connection
    • Open the 2.45 GHz Active Handheld RFID Reader and enters into desktop/ Windows Embedded CE 6.0.
      • Do a right click and then select control panel and choose (Internet and Dialling).
      • Double click SDIO86881 and begin wireless search.
      • (Add new internet) choose relative Internet for connection, input parameters and password, and then click “OK”.GPRS ConnectionEnter into Dial up connection interface. Enter into Control Panel
      • Double‐click Bluetooth Windows Embedded CE 6.0 Properties → Scan Windows Embedded CE 6.0
      • Bluetooth Connection
      • Directly click “Connect” and will show successful connection; you also can set user name and password according to your needs.
      • Double click Network and Dial‐up Connections → GPRS.

Control Panel Settings

  • ActiveSync Tools Use
    • Install ActiveSync 4.5 into PC
    • Open Microsoft ActiveSync tools in PC.
    • Connect the handheld reader to PC by USB.
    • Open Sync tools in handheld reader.
    • Start → Settings → Control Panel → USBFN Setup.
    • “Mass‐Storage‐Class” is U dish mode; “Flush to register” is the default mode when starting the Windows Embedded CE 6.0 next time and “Serial‐Class” is Sync Mode.
    • Choose OK.

 

  • Battery Use Status
    • Enter into Control Panel.
    • Double‐Click <Power> to check battery status.

 

  • Date and Time Settings
    • Enter into Control Panel.
    • Double‐click <Date and Time>. Set right date and time and then click “apply”.

 

  • Volume and Sounds Settings
    • Enter into Control Panel.
    • Double‐Click <Volume and Sounds>. Adjust the volume & sounds according to your needs.
    • Click “Save As”.

 

RFID User Demo

  • 1D Barcode Scanning
    • Click Windows Embedded CE 6.0 → SD Memory → 1D barcode test.exe
    • Enter into 1D barcode scanning interface; click set → confirm → scan.

UHF User Guide

  • Double click Windows Embedded CE 6.0 → SD Memory → test UHF → RFDemoEPC.exe
  • Enters into UHF demo interface, and you can operate <start>, <Read>, <Write>
  • Complete quit.
