The 2.45 GHz Gain Adjustable RFID Reader uses a built in omni-directional antenna allowing it to identify transponder tagged items up to 100 meters in all directions. Users can adjust the identification distance from less than 5 meters to 100 meters according to actual situations in order to make identification more accurate. The reader uses an advanced 0.18 µm CMOS IC for ultra-low power. This active reader uses WiFi (802.11b wireless communication standard) for data transmission to a host system. In addition, the WiFi Reader has dual operating modes allowing for the upload of data in real time or data buffering for later retrieval.

How to Use
Make sure the computer’s network has to be set as DHCP enabled.
Use a crossover RJ45 Ethernet cable to directly connect the PC with the 217002Y device.
Power on 217002Y WIFI reader with its default 12VDC power supply.
After about 8 seconds, the computer will automatically obtain the Ethernet connection between the PC and the reader.
On the PC side, enable the Internet Explorer, enter the URL: http://10.10.100.254 and enter the user name and password, the default both are “admin”
Once log in, hit the button of “Mode Selection” which is on the left side of the window
7.Enable the “STA Mode” button and click “Apply” .

Users are able to select which specific wireless router around that is going to be used with the 217002Y wireless reader. To realize that, just hit the button of “Search”, and select the proper wireless router.
Enter the parameters in the settings panel
Click “Apply” to make the new settings effective.
Network Setup :
A: SSID is the unique identification for the 217002Y WiFi reader that is used for connecting with a WiFi router. Both WiFi router and 217002Y reader should have the SAME SSID.
B: If the security setting on the router’s side and the reader side should be same.
C: Make sure the “Static (Fixed IP)” option is selected and users need to assign a new IP address for the RFID reader based on the current WiFi network.
Click “Application Setting” on the left panel and check “Baudrate”, “Data bits”,etc. exactly match those ones shown on the UART setting above. Click on the “Apply” tab.
On the “Network Setting” part, please select “Server” in the dropdown list for the “Mode”; input the TCP/IP port number (i.e. “8899”) and the server address. The server address stands for your computer’s IP address and click “Apply”
On the left panel, hit the button of “Device Management”, click“Restart” to reboot your 217002Y WiFi reader. After the 217002Y reboots, the network parameters being set on the reader side will take effective.
Perform Ping Test to verify the connection between the reader and computer.
