GAO’s BLE beacon is a small wireless device that broadcasts a Bluetooth signal, which can be detected by nearby devices such as smartphones, gateways or other Bluetooth-enabled devices. The signal contains a UID (Unique Identification Number) and other data, such as a major and minor number, which can be used to identify the specific beacon and its location.
GAO’s BLE beacon uses a low-power, low-range wireless protocol, which may allow it to operate for extended periods of time on l battery or AC adapter. When a smart phone comes within range of a beacon, it can detect the signal and use the data to trigger a specific action or provide location-based information or services to the user.
For example, a store may use GAO’s BLE beacons to provide customers with information about products, promotions, or discounts as they walk through the store. A museum may use our BLE beacons to provide visitors with information about exhibits as they move through the museum. Our BLE beacon can also be used for indoor navigation, asset tracking, and other location-based applications.
The internal architecture of our BLE beacon can vary depending on the specific model, but generally, it consists of the following components:
System-on-a-Chip (SoC): The SoC is the main processing unit of our BLE beacon. It typically includes a microprocessor, memory, and a Bluetooth radio. To support the BLE beacon's operations, the SoC might also have other hardware parts like an analog-to-digital converter (ADC), digital-to-analog converter (DAC), and power management unit (PMU).
Bluetooth Radio: The Bluetooth radio is responsible for transmitting and receiving signals over the Bluetooth protocol such as Point-to-Point Protocol (PPP), Internet Protocol (IP), User Datagram Protocol (UDP), Transmission Control Protocol (TCP), and Wireless Application Protocol (WAP).
Antenna: The antenna is used to broadcast the BLE signal and receive signals from nearby Bluetooth devices. The antenna used in our BLE beacon is typically a small, embedded antenna that is designed to be compact and low-profile.
Power source: The power source for our BLE beacon is typically a battery, which can be replaceable or non-replaceable. The choice of power source depends on factors such as the required battery life, form factor, and portability of our BLE beacon. A smaller and more portable BLE beacons are powered by coin cell batteries
Sensors: GAO’s BLE beacons include sensors such as temperature, humidity, or motion sensors that can be used to collect environmental data. The sensors used in BLE beacons are usually designed to be low-power and closely-packed, to minimize the size and energy consumption of the device.
Firmware: The firmware is the software that controls the behaviour of our BLE beacon. It is usually pre-installed on the device and can be updated over-the-air to fix bugs or add new features.
Enclosure: The enclosure is the outer shell of our BLE beacon that protects the internal components from external environment and provides a mounting point for the device.
