Technology

The semi passive RFID tags are available in 860-960 MHz and 433 MHz frequencies. These tags are battery operated with a battery life of three to five years or even more and rely on RFID signals to communicate. They are FCC Part 15 (US) certified and supports protocol such as ISO18000-6C, EPC UHF Class 1 Gen 2, and IEC 18000-7. The read range of these tags is of up to 100 feet (30 m).

The operating temperature of semi passive RFID tags is 4 °F to +158 °F (-40 °C to +70°C). Most of these tags consist of LED for sensor and battery status and has USB 2.0 hardware interface. It features a unique light panel, ultra-capacitor combination power source, light weight, high durability, and provides reliable performance in both indoor and outdoor applications. These tags have the ability to monitor inputs from sensors as well, allowing them to control outputs which result in the ability to activate/deactivate items such as alarms and thermostats.

The tags of this kind have IP 65, IP 67 protection standards by which they can withstand harsh environments and also get protected from dust and rust.
