BLE-Based Access Control System for Multi-Tenant Residential Buildings

Overview

BLE technology has become a leading solution for access control systems in multi-tenant residential buildings. BLE offers several key advantages over traditional RFID systems, including an extended range, low power consumption, and flexible power options for both gateways and beacons. The BLE-Based Access Control System provides adjustable range capabilities, covering up to 900 ft (300 meters) indoors and up to 5,000 ft (1,500 meters) outdoors, making it ideal for buildings of various sizes and configurations.

This system uses one or more BLE gateways that interact with multiple BLE beacons, ensuring that residents and authorized personnel can access common areas, parking garages, and individual units efficiently. Gateways can be powered through PoE, batteries, solar power, or standard outlets, and are strategically placed at entry points. Rugged IP67-rated beacons, which can be powered by batteries or solar energy, are positioned near access doors and other critical areas to ensure reliable access control throughout the building.

Features

  • Extended Range: Adjustable range up to 900 ft (300 meters) indoors and up to 5,000 ft (1,500 meters) outdoors for large residential buildings.
  • Power Efficiency: Beacons offer up to 10 years of battery life, minimizing maintenance.
  • Flexible Power Options: Gateways are powered via PoE, battery, solar power, or power outlets; beacons can be powered by batteries or solar energy.
  • Rugged Design: Beacons are IP67-rated, ensuring they can withstand harsh conditions.
  • Scalable System: Multiple gateways and beacons can be installed to accommodate larger buildings or multiple residential areas.
  • Seamless Access: Gateways are strategically placed at entrances, while beacons are positioned near access points within the building for secure entry.
