Convenient, Accurate & Efficient
With the thousands of items in an antique store’s inventory, wouldn’t you like a simple and easy way in which to track your inventory? Manual tracking and conventional barcode methods have more disadvantages than advantages, especially when compared to the GAO RFID Antique Inventory Management System. Save money by reducing the hundreds of hours of employee labor you currently spend tracking your inventory.
This solution is requires an employee holding a handheld device and walking through the store. The handheld device automatically scans a special tag within a 15 foot range (5m) of the item and does not require manual scanning. This reduces errors, improves accuracy and reduces employee hours to track your store’s inventory and decreases the chance of breakage from having to handle your antique items when being scanned or tracked.

What It Can Track and How It Can Help
Having a diverse collection of antiques means a large variety of surfaces and surface sizes in which a tracking tag must be placed. With a barcode system, you must find a way to attach the sticker to a multitude of services, where it can be fully read and without damaging the antique. With RFID there are hundreds of tags to choose from and can easily find a tag to accommodate any antique’s matarial and doesn’t need to be visible to the eye. There are tags specifically made for jewellery, glasses, metal, plastic, that can be attached to a tag or adhered to a garment’s label. This system is far more versatile than barcode stickers that must adhere to your antique.
It can also help, not only track your items but keep track of their location. Whether in storage in the back of your store or a large warehouse, a database tracks their location and enables all employees can locate all your antiques. When an order is placed, you can easily locate an item to be packaged and shipped out. This is especially helpful in saving time if your items are sold online and warehoused at your location.
The GAO RFID Antique Inventory Management System can track inventory with a simple walkthrough of the store or warehouse, substantially reducing operational costs, decreasing the chance of breaking or damaging the antique by handling and improving the ability to locate items. This inventory management system will pay for itself over a short period.
The Solution
GAO has developed the GAO RFID Antique Inventory Management System based on the latest UHF Gen 2 RFID technology. The system consists of handheld PCs such as PDAs (Personal Digital Assistants), tablets, pistol grip handheld computers or EDAs (Enterprise Digital Assistant). These handheld computers are loaded with GAO RFID Software and equipped with an RFID reader, which then reads the RFID tag attached to each antique.
