TekSummit – Emerging ICT Technologies in Construction

First Quarter, Annually

Jointly Hosted by GAO RFID Inc. & GAO Tek Inc.

This summit is a virtual platform for top technical and business professionals and corporate executives from the construction industry to discuss emerging ICT technologies such as IoT, cloud, drone, RFID and their applications in creating buildings and infrastructures.

Participants come from such leaders in the construction industry as Bechtel, Fluor, Turner, AECOM, Skanska USA, Kiewit, Jacobs Engineering, PCL Construction, Tridel, John Deere, Caterpillar, Bobcat, Terex, JCB, VOLVO, and Komatsu, professional and standards organizations such as The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE),  The American Institute of Architects (AIA), The Construction Management Association of America (CMAA), Construction Owners Association of America (COAA), Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC), Canadian Construction Association (CCA), Construction Safety Standards – The American National Standards Institute (ANSI), Construction Standards – American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM), CSA Group, and the US and Canadian government departments and agencies related to construction such as National Institute of Building Sciences, Facilities & Construction of US General Services Administration, and Infrastructure Canada.

Innovative advancements in the field of construction are allowing people to work smarter and more efficiently than ever before. This summit covers different Emerging ICT Technologies in construction: what these technologies are, how they can be applied and future technologies that are still work in progress. We will also be addressing changes to the construction industry and what technology is doing to manage these changes. Some examples of topics our presenters cover at this summit include big data, 5G, manufacturing 4.0, robotics, digital marketing, drones (UAV and UAS), Fintech, 3D printing and additive manufacturing, data  centres, biometrics and more so be sure not to miss out on all this summit has to offer.

As computing technology continues to improve over the years, so does its variety of applications in the field of construction. Using computers equipped with readers in tandem with RFID technology, construction workers  can intelligently track assets and manage inventory as well as control access to sites and parking. Our construction industry experts will also delve into additional computer and internet-related topics such as cybersecurity, quantum computing, edge computing, cloud, data  centres, server-less computing, blockchain, computer vision, e-commerce, artificial intelligence (AI) and the internet of things (IoT).

With growing environmental concerns in regard to operations within the construction industry, new and more sustainable technologies are constantly being developed to lessen construction’s environmental impacts. Renewable energies (such as solar energy), electrical and autonomous vehicles, smart city developments, human factors and environmental factors are all notable topics our speakers present on.
